Boar hunting

In the Volgograd region, from June 1, the boar hunting season opened. At the same time it is allowed to carry out it only with the help of towers.

The wild boar season in the region will last until February 28, 2018. However, the hunters were warned of some restrictions.

First, in order to prevent the spread of African swine fever, boars can only be shot from the tower. At the same time, it is allowed to hunt males, juveniles and females without offspring. Meat can be eaten only after laboratory tests at ASF.

In addition, visits to certain sites are limited due to the sanitization of forest pests, which will continue until June 19.

According to the state forest inspection, seasonal restrictions are in force in the Nizhny Novgorod region, hunting for boars in the paddock, with a surge and using dogs of hunting breeds is prohibited from June 1 to August 1, 2017 and from January 1 to February 28, 2018. An exception is the addition of wounded boars.

If a person hunts a wild boar without permits, he is threatened with deprivation of the right to hunt for a period of one to three years. In addition, in the case of illegal extraction of the beast, he will have to pay compensation in the amount of 45 thousand rubles to 105 thousand rubles.

The government decree of the Nizhny Novgorod region established the standards for wild boar production in the public areas of the region for the upcoming hunting season – 57 individuals. It is assumed that all permits for the extraction of wild boar will be raffled off between hunters who have submitted applications for the acquisition of the right to obtain permits for the extraction of hunting resources in accordance with the established procedure.

Currently, boar hunting is permitted in Ardatovsky, Bogorodsky, Volodarsky, Gorodetsky, Pilninsky, Tonshaevsky, Sharang districts and Shakhunye. It is strictly forbidden to hunt wild boars in Vyksa, Kulebaki and Navashino.

The Department of Natural Resources of the region recalls that from June 1 to September 30, the extraction of wild boars under one year old and female wild boars with offspring of the current year is prohibited. In addition, the extraction of ungulates is prohibited by pens, surge, and also with the use of dogs of hunting breeds, with the exception of wounded animals.

Hunters are asked to pay attention to the fact that wild boars can be subject to various diseases (African swine fever (ASF), trichinosis). In this regard, the department recommends that you familiarize yourself with the “Memo to the hunter about the ASF” and the “Accompanying letter about sending the samples to the monitoring studies” posted on the website.
